Permits across Cork City and County, the English Market, Cobh's harbour terraces, Kinsale and the southern start of the Wild Atlantic Way. Your on-the-ground partner for shoots in Cork and Munster.
Cork is the natural base for any shoot weighted to the south of Ireland. The city is compact and walkable, built across channels of the River Lee so water and bridges are never far, and it carries a distinct texture that does not read as Dublin: lower Georgian terraces, steep lanes up to Shandon, and the cast-iron Victorian arcade of the English Market in the middle of it all. For productions that want Ireland without the most-photographed Dublin streets, Cork is the answer.
Two authorities cover the patch. Cork City Council handles filming on public streets and property inside the city boundary. Cork County Council covers everything beyond it, which is most of what producers come for: Cobh, Kinsale, the harbour, East Cork and the West Cork coast. Where the water is involved, the Port of Cork and harbour authorities come into it; where traffic, closures or stunts are involved, An Garda Síochána liaison applies as everywhere in Ireland; and state heritage sites sit with the OPW. We work out which authority owns your exact location and run the applications.
In the city: St Patrick's Street with its sweep and modern lighting masts, the English Market for covered-arcade texture, the lanes up to Shandon and the bells of St Anne's, the quays and bridges along the Lee, University College Cork's quad, and the regenerated docklands east of the centre. The city gives Georgian and Victorian without Dublin's permit congestion.
Out of the city, Cobh is one of the most cinematic towns in the country: the stacked, colour-washed terraces of the Deck of Cards rising to St Colman's Cathedral, a deep-water harbour, and the Titanic and emigration story sitting right on the waterfront. Kinsale gives a yachting harbour, narrow streets and Charles Fort. Beyond, the southern Wild Atlantic Way opens up: the Old Head of Kinsale, the Beara and Sheep's Head peninsulas, and Mizen Head at the far southwest tip.
Kinsale is the official southern start of the Wild Atlantic Way, which makes Cork the sensible base for any southern Atlantic coast work. From here the peninsulas, cliffs and harbour villages of the south and southwest are reachable without routing crew the length of the country. Where a shoot pairs a city day with a coastal run, we plan the corridor so the unit moves once, not twice.
Cork has a genuine regional crew and supplier base for commercial and content work, fed by UCC and MTU screen graduates and an active local production community. For bigger units we bring Dublin crew and camera packages down the motorway, which is a two-and-a-half-hour run. Cork Airport, ten minutes from the city with direct European links, makes inbound talent and clients straightforward. We tell you plainly what is available locally on your dates and what we import.
Plain version: Cork gives you Ireland's second city, a working harbour, period maritime in Cobh, and the southern coast, with less permit congestion than Dublin. We run the local authority, harbour and Garda side. You bring the creative.
